The DigiBayanihan Champions

In line with its advocacy of promoting digital literacy, digitally-enabled literacy, and digital citizenship to communities across the Philippines, DigiBayanihan (DB)..introduced its latest initiative, the DB Champions, last January 2018. The DB Champions comprises of individuals who are influential leaders in their respective communities.

As of May 2018, the team has already awarded four Champions who will serve as advocates of the program. BG Guingona (City Councilor, Zamboanga), Dr. Mary Ann Roble (RITTC Director of University of San Juan-Recoletos, Cebu), Nur-Ainee Lim (Treasurer of Al Husna Foundation Inc., Zamboanga) and Mary Rose Ofianga (Founder of WomenPowered Institute, Davao) will take part in the execution and implementation of DB’s various activities within their respective regions.

“I look forward to partnering with Digibayanihan in addressing social issues in the Philippines. I will do my best to widen DigiBayanihan’s reach in the Mindanao region and contribute to our nation’s economic development,” said BG Guingona on his role as a DB Champion.

Though voluntary, the main responsibility of the DB Champions is to incite positive digital change by introducing DigiBayanihan to potential partners and by holding creative and engaging activities, specifically targeted to the youth of their community.
