Digital literacy will be reaching more Cebuano youth as Digibayanihan sealed its partnership with the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) in Cebu City through a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 10, 2018.

DigiBayanihan is integrated into the school’s curriculum through the Recoletos Industrial and Technological Training Center (RITTC), the technical training arm of USJ-R. To empower more Cebuanos on digital literacy, digitally-enabled literacy, and responsible digital citizenship, training sessions and development workshops are also being held at the school.

Another prestigious Cebuano institution, the University of San Carlos (USC), has been an enthusiastic partner of DigiBayanihan since October 2017. A Training of Teachers (TOT) was held at the school’s Learning Resource Center on July 11, 2018. Thirty teachers from the Senior High School Department of USC participated in the training about digital literacy. One participant said, “The training was very helpful. I got to learn a lot, especially on email and presentation tools.”

Harveen Ang, Associate for Social Action, said “We hope to come back [to USC] soon to hold a workshop on how to integrate DigiBayanihan in their curriculum.” He added, “Overall, our time here in Cebu was rewarding, particularly because I saw the increasing interest in digital literacy. We will continue to spread DigiBayanihan throughout the province.”
