DigiBayanihan continues to be a movement that empowers thousands of Filipinos across the country. This month, DigiBayanihan went to Butuan City to train teachers and librarians on digital citizenship.

Digital technologies are quickly becoming more accessible to everyone, even to those who live in the remote provinces of the country. With the advent of the digital age, cultivating responsible digital citizens is imminent. DigiBayanihan trained teachers and librarians in Butuan City on the state of online behaviors and consumption, especially by the youth; the core values in using technologies; and how to avoid digital threats. The training encouraged participants to create digital wellness campaigns to further raise awareness on digital literacy in their respective institutions.

One of the participants, Ms. Edelyn Sumayo, a teacher from Butuan Central Elementary School, said “The training taught me about the core values of digital citizenship. These values are important and will help us become responsible users of digital technologies.”The training was held at the Butuan City Public Library. Teachers and librarians from public and private institutions attended the event.
